Melbourne totally won me over
The food scene here is something else. Lygon Street alone kept me busy for days - Italian food, coffee, gelato. The coffee culture is real and every café takes it seriously. Such a great city to just walk around and eat your way through.
Best city trip I've done in a while
Melbourne has so much going on without feeling overwhelming. The street art in Fitzroy is genuinely impressive - not just tagging, actual art. Public transport was easy to figure out and locals were super helpful. Flat whites here are on another level too.
Great place for a long weekend
Spent a few days here and loved every bit of it. The Queen Victoria Market is huge and full of fresh produce, good snacks and interesting stalls. City feels very walkable and safe. Weather was a bit unpredictable but that just adds to the Melbourne experience apparently!
Did not want to leave
St Kilda beach in summer is everything. Relaxed, not overcrowded, and you've got the Luna Park right there too. The esplanade market on Sundays is a great way to spend a morning. Melbourne just has this easy-going energy that makes it really enjoyable to be in.
Loved exploring the neighbourhoods
Every suburb here feels different and worth exploring. Collingwood, Fitzroy, South Yarra - they all have their own feel and their own food spots. The laneway bars are a real thing and actually very cool. Melbourne is one of those cities that rewards you for just wandering.
Brilliant city for sports fans
Catching a game at the MCG was a proper bucket list moment. The stadium is massive and the crowd energy is amazing. Beyond that, the city itself is really easy to get around and there is always something on. Definitely a destination that delivers.
